This day camp is a rich tradition of our church that offers children an exciting Summer full of fun while nurturing spiritual growth in a loving Christian environment. Each week we balance arts, crafts, recreation, field trips, reading, relaxing, and daily devotion to ensure variety and a great time.
Our Mission
The Mission of First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville's Summer Camp Program is to provide Christian care for children ages 4-13 in a fun, supportive and safe environment during the summer months. We seek to help each child build self-confidence, make lasting friendships, grow, and develop a strong relationship with God.
Our Program
Our Camp runs for 11 weeks beginning in May and concluding in August. At registration, children may sign up for any combination of weeks. Camp starts at 9:00 am with the morning devotion and ends at 4:00 pm. We also offer extended care hours before and after camp at no additional charge. Children may come as early as 7:00 am and stay as late as 6:30 pm.
We serve children ages 4-13 who will be entering grades Pre-K through the 8th in the Fall. Campers are divided by age. Our program is open to all children without regard to race, religion, sex or national origin. We are Nationally accredited through NAA and licensed by the State of Georgia.
Registration
Registration will begin in March in the School Age Reception Area for currently enrolled students, church members, and previous campers. Dates and times will be posted in the KCLC office.
One time summer camp registration fee is $50.00/child. Each child will receive a camp t-shirt!
Pre-K/Kindergarten
Our 4 & 5 year old children grow together as they participate in art, recreation, rest time, story time, playtime, and an occasional field trip. While we provide plenty of activity, we also bring to them puppet shows, storytellers, bubble fun and a whole lot of comfortable structure and is sensitive to the needs of these younger children.
Junior Campers
Campers in grades 1-4 are always on the go! Each Junior Camper participates in arts & crafts, recreation, field trips, and daily devotion. Each grade's schedule, trips, and curriculum are unique and tailored to the needs of that particular age group. These groups develop lasting friendships and make great memories as they go through their summer camp adventure together.
Big Kids
Our Big Kids group is made up of 5th and 6th graders. This group participates in arts, crafts, recreation, daily devotion, and swimming as well as fun and adventurous field trips. Throughout camp, they will have the opportunity to learn new and exciting things about themselves, God, and the world around them.
Senior Campers
Our Senior Campers grades 7-8 go on their own journey of learning and growing together with special projects, group development, recreation, arts, crafts, daily devotion, and several optional trips just for them. They are camp leaders who help with devotions, plan activities and set examples for young campers.
Camp Counselors
Our counselors are trained and ready to ensure that your child's camp experience is an extravaganza of epic proportions! We model and encourage the concepts of spiritual growth, self-esteem, friendships, creativity, and service.
